Cookie policy

Short version: no analytics until you say yes.

Last updated: October 2026

We set no cookies of our own

This site stores nothing on your device to make its own pages work. There is no login, no shopping cart and no session to remember, so there are no technical cookies to tell you about.

Your answer to the consent banner is handled by Cloudflare Zaraz, the consent management platform for the whole tuscanytrail.it domain. Zaraz remembers your answer in a cookie called zaraz-consent-v1, written whether you accept or decline, because that is the only way not to ask you again on every page. It is a technical cookie, it holds nothing but your choice, and we never see or store that choice ourselves.

Analytics cookies — only after you accept

If you press Accept, Google Analytics 4 sets these cookies:

Cloudflare Zaraz keeps Google Analytics in a denied, cookieless state by default and only lets it start writing once you accept. Ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied whatever you choose: we do not advertise and we do not build profiles.

One honest caveat about _ga. This site lives at365.tuscanytrail.it, and Google Analytics writes that cookie for the whole of tuscanytrail.it — so if you have already visited the Tuscany Trail website, your browser is carrying a _ga cookie before you ever reach us. We neither set it nor read it until you accept. What is unambiguously ours is_ga_FELFB9W37W, and that one appears only after you pressAccept.

If you press Decline, we write no analytics cookie at all.

Changing your mind

Use the Cookie preferenceslink in the footer of every page to reopen the consent choice at any time. You can also clear the site data for this domain in your browser, which removes any analytics cookie and makes the banner greet you again on your next visit. In most browsers this lives under Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data, or in the padlock menu in the address bar.

You can also refuse cookies browser-wide, or install Google'sAnalytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site depends on cookies, so refusing them costs you no functionality at all.

Sites we link to, and maps we show

The accommodation buttons take you to Stay22 or to the properties' own websites, and the GPX email links to Ride with GPS. If you buy a planning session, you pay on Stripe's checkout page. Those are other people's sites with their own cookies and their own policies — this page only covers what happens here. See how we earn for how those links work.

Two maps are shown inside our own pages rather than linked. The booking map comes from Stay22, and the trail map of the Monte Calvi bike area comes from Trailforks. They load from those companies' servers and can set their own cookies on their own domains as soon as the map appears, which is outside our consent banner and outside our control. Neither map is needed to read the page, and blocking third-party cookies in your browser leaves the rest of the site working exactly as before.
